Women and children around the world spend about 200 million hours walking an average distance of 4 miles/day to collect water. Join us wherever you are the week of September 6-12 and walk in their honor - walk so they won't have to. Choose to participate in the way that is most personal and meaningful to you. Some ideas include:
- Walk or run alone or with your village any distance you choose
- Gather with your village at a park and practice balancing water buckets on your head
- Walk 4 miles carrying buckets of water in honor of women and children who walk an average of 4 miles to collect water
- Do a 4 mile relay with each person running one mile, carrying water, or not
- Post your pictures and video using #mywalk4water
